Renaissance woodcarving - wall panel "Stork and snake" |
52/15 cm
material – lime-tree
backing – stain and wax
The wall panel from the summer collection of Tzvetomir Minchev bears the characteristic marks of the Triavna wood-carving School. Although the style speaks of church wood-carving there is a folklore motif borrowed. The most characteristic feature of Minchev’s style is the plasticity of the portrayal of the wooden figures. The artist himself says that he takes more interest in the motion and in all his wall panels he has tried to re-create people and animals in their motion.
